The schedule lists required and elective subjects for four years including English Algebra German European History and more. A separate report mentions a fire alarm at Conteys tailor shop where a gasoline flare caused a small blaze, quickly extinguished by Mr. Conley and minor scorch damage to clothing.

Indian Reservation Allottees and Patent Notes

The competency commission reports 175 examined allottees to date with 400 living on the reservation. Sixty percent have died since allotments in 189? were made. About 300 minors are tied to heirship lands, 200 minors not interested, and 175 Indians hold final patent terms. Refrigerator cars pass through city to fruit warehouses in Walla Walla Valley. Milston and Freewater packing houses ship 150 carloads of fruit.

Peacock Mills Fire Destroys Mills Warehouses and Homes

A Saturday night fire at Peacock Mills and related properties in Freewater and nearby areas caused extensive losses. The blaze consumed Peacock Mills, two Farmota Warehouse Company warehouses, and two dwellings, with a third warehouse saved after heavy flames. Grain and wheat stocks, including 100000 bushels, and a loaded AR&N car were destroyed. Losses cited around 150000 dollars with the mill valued at 75000 dollars and substantial insured grain in warehouses. Local towns assisted with equipment and fire brigades from Walla Walla arriving after the buildings burned.
