Road project eyed from Umatilla to Cold Springs dam
A. A. Cole, Pendleton stockman, tells the East Oregonian that a farmer lined railroad from Umatilla to Milton may extend to the Cold Springs dam if needed. He backs the project financially and is signing land rights as work progresses. The route would cut across the government project from Umatilla to the big reservoir and dam with a 100 foot wide right of way.Steam or gasoline power will run the line initially with electrics planned later.

Big Power Plant Aims At Walla Walla River Site
Preliminary steps move to erect a large power plant on the south fork of the Walla Walla River above the intake of the Northwestern Gas and Electric pipeline on the Roberta ranch. Interests behind the Columbia and Walla Walla company are linked to the project. A seven mile gan road from Roberta ranch to Spencer wood camp will carry materials for a long pipeline to connect with the plant. A north side survey of the Walla Walla has been completed.
