Third member of family succumbs to pneumonia
Mrs Bert Allen mother of Mike Pierce who died at North Yakima last week died of pneumonia at her home southwest of Athena Monday night. She had been in North Yakima with her son and his stepdaughter when influenza struck and returned home as pneumonia developed. Survived by husband Bert Allen and children John Pierce Mrs Andy Rothrook Mrs Duck Murphy and Mrs Anna Aineworth. Funeral was private due to the influenza epidemic. Mike Pierce and his stepdaughter were buried Sunday in Athena cemetery.
