Poisoned cougar bait strikes Lane County again
In Lane County a second poisoned cougar case was reported as a seven foot four inch skeletal carcass was found on Fall Creek and brought to Eugene by government hunter C. Hight. The animal was found on the Emery Callison farm after goats went missing for weeks. Hight said bait attracted many bobcats and coyotes before the cougar fed, noting cougars are usually wary of poisoned bait.
