William K Wall Dies After Paralysis in Athens
The community is shocked by the death of William Ketchom Wall at his Athens home after several strokes. Born December 6, 1844 in Noblesville Indiana, he served in the 89th Indiana Volunteers, worked as Kilpatrick’s orderly, and fought at Shiloh Chickamauga Ringgold. He married Elmira Moir in 1869 and left a widow and four grown children. He lived in Bloomington Kansas and moved to Athens in 1906, with services held at the Christian church and burial in Athens cemetery.
