May Carnival Fans Enjoy Pendleton Eagles Event

The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pendleton hosts four days of carnival festivities this week. Spectacular parades, a queen pageant, exhibits, music, and vocal solos from Port land prima donna Miss Lawler headline the program alongside a Japanese tea garden, glass blowers, a Ferris wheel, trained dogs, a mirror maze, and an electric theatre. Refreshments are available, with speeches by public figures and various concession stands at the fair grounds.

Decoration of Graves by Gettysburg Post at Athena

National Memorial day was observed in Athena with private observances. Surviving members of Gettysburg Post G A B met at 10 to ride to the cemetery where seventeen fallen soldiers’ graves were decorated with flags and flowers. Local residents visited the cemetery and beautified graves of departed relatives.
