A distressing accident at the new steam laundry in Pendleton on Monday afternoon left Mrs. A H Finch wife of the foreman with severe hand injuries from a trial run of a new mangle. She watched the machine operate when the mishap occurred.

Woman Injured in Roller Machine Incident at Local Industry
A woman working with her husband and several employees was caught by a steam heated ironing roller. Her hand became trapped between the rollers and she thrust her left hand against the machine to free herself. The power was turned off and she was released as the rollers slowed.
