Labor Leader Lawson Found Guilty of Murder in Coal Strike

John R Lawson, a prominent labor leader, is sentenced to hard labor for life in the Colorado penitentiary after being found guilty of first degree murder in the death of deputy sheriff John Nimo during the Oct 25 1018 waterline battle. The city of Colon was largely wiped out by a disastrous fire that swept through after 2 pm Saturday. At least ten killed including two native policemen, with 10,000 to 12,000 homeless, and damages around $2,000,000. Coast artillery aided, looting arrests made, and most wooden stores burned.

Gift Divides Under Will Of Bend Cattle Owner
