O R N Appeals Case On Tax Assessment Rates
Pendleton May 2 The O R N Railroad company filed its appeal from the county court tax assessment. Circuit court Saturday morning attorneys Charles H. Carter W W Cotton and Arthur Spencer for the company. Defendants named G A Hartman T P Gilliland Horace Walker P Strain T D Taylor and W BD Chamberlain. The petition recites more than a dozen reasons for lowering the assessment. The case follows the same dispute as the original assessment and the company expects to proceed to the supreme court for a final decision. The petition is lengthy and may be hotly contested on both sides.
