Mrs. Mary Desper Dies at Athena Home at 80
Mrs. Mary L. Desper died at her Athena, Oregon home after a long illness at age 80 years seven months and 11 days. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church. She was born July 31 1849 in Sullivan County Missouri. She married J W Roberts in 1879 and after his death in 1894 moved to Oregon in 1911 where she married H N Desper. She left no children and was active in the church until her passing.
