The Rhinehart family will hold its third annual reunion in Freewater City Park from Tuesday June 22 to Saturday June 26. A large crowd is expected. Athena Commercial Association Plans Social Events
At a recent meeting the Athena Commercial Association decided to add social features to boost interest. A weekly lunch plan from the Walla Walla club was adopted, with the first luncheon held Wednesday at the St Nichols hotel. A basket supper and entertainment for the general public is set for Friday evening June 25 at the Odd Fellows K of P hall, with educational rallies to follow and addresses by Prof Klemme County Supt Welles and others. Everyone is invited and women and girls are asked to prepare baskets of edibles. The program committee expects to complete plans soon and the program will be printed in next Friday's paper.

Insane man attempts suicide in Baker City jail
John Norton, locked in an individual cell, used a bent fork to slash his throat but was interrupted by fellow prisoners H Franka and Bob Alexander before fatal injury. Doctors say only impending blood loss would have killed him if left alone. A separate incident near La Crosse involved a child seen on a railroad track prompting an emergency stop by a passenger train. The mother pursued across a wheat field as the engine halted.

Mrs Grave Allan Bradley a prominent Omaha pioneer and historian died at her home after a nap on Monday afternoon after months of ill health. Peddling Charge Against Kennett in County Court
