Rise of a London born Baptist minister Herbert E Ryder
Herbert E Ryder born in London 1868. Son of printers, he drifted from mischief to missionary work in slums. He led Raggedboy night school, pursued theology at Crozer and Colgate, served as Colporteur for Vermont, and became city Missionary of Camden New Jersey while studying. He trained at Hamilton and Crozer, graduating in 1896, then balanced evangelistic calls with seminary studies.
