Can Women Vote In Oregon Supreme Court Debate

A new market for Walla Walla potatoes has been found in Hawaii with three carloads shipped for the islands. Growers call the potatoes the finest of the valley, grown at the Binlock fruit rough from California. L R Reid through attorney Peterson and Wilson sues in Justice Richards court for 200 damages to crop against Jacob and Walter Parr and Mrs Strae berg. The case is argued by Sinter and Fee of Pen and the cane will be held January 37.

Farmers Gather for Union Meeting in Athens

Big gathering of farmers attended the Farmers' Cooperative Union meeting in Athens Tuesday and listened to addresses by G. L. Reid state organizer for Washington F. A. Sykes state president of the Oregon Unions and J. H. McLean the Union agent at Walla Walla. Reid spoke on union benefits for farmers and warehouses handling 75 percent of grain in Rockford and Larab Wash. Farmers control warehouses and get direct market quotations reducing middleman margins to about 14 cents per bushel. Helix official Milton discussed state warehousing and property valued at 10 000.

Wins Rhodes Scholarship for Cecil K Lyons of Oregon

Cecil K Lyons, University of Oregon graduate of 1909, has won a Rhodes scholarship for three years at Oxford starting next September. The award, granted by the State Rhodes Scholarship Committee in Salem, provides an annual income of 1000 dollars. Lyons was a strong student and notable in debate during his university years.

Demonstration trains to tour Oregon farms and towns

Plans for Oregon lines to run demonstration trains in eastern Oregon this year in cooperation with the Oregon Agricultural College. Two Southern Pacific trains will cover Willamette Valley and southern Oregon while Northern Pacific routes will reach northern Oregon and southeastern Washington. Trains will display livestock poultry fruit dairy and farming machinery with lectures on agronomy stock raising poultry husbandry and orchard care.
