Renominated officers seek another term in city race

Present city administration gains renewed backing as officers from Mayor Koontz to recorder win unanimous nominations. David Taylor enters as independent candidate by petition, challenging enforcement of laws after years serving the city.

Saloon Robbery and Wagon Train Yeggman Detected

A saloon at Adams was robbed during the weeknight, with officers alerted Tuesday morning. A suspected yeggman later rode a mixed train toward Walla Walla, but was arrested after two revolvers and a bottle of booze were found on him. The Adams proprietor identified a missing watch, and the man was jailed in Pendleton before transfer. Also, Mike Donnelly, a prisoner who escaped at Walin Walls, was recaptured in Everett and sent back to serve his life term for murder.

Dancers Terrified by Wild West Style Shooting Party

Two farm laborers Lou Osper and Jack Murdock shot at a dancing party hosted by Ernest Ghormley in Juniper. No one injured. A warrant for the disturbances was issued amid claims that a schoolteacher sparked the conflict. The attackers later returned with rifles and a shotgun, threatening others before riding off.
