Pendleton Dog Poisoner Strikes Again in City

East Oregonian reports a canine poisoner returned, killing a prized pointer once owned by Dr. McClure who had paid $100 to have the dog trained. The victim, PB Winter, was found dead from poisoning, with the dog described as a splendid thoroughbred pointer.

Fraud and a half note scam ends with a year and a half

A Cleveland man attempted to claim sixty dollars in ruined currency by fabricating an affidavit about half notes lost in a fire. The plan failed when a clerk spotted the missing halves in the shipment and alerted authorities. A Secret Service probe followed, revealing the man mutilated bills to claim twenty five dollars, forfeiting his liberty for a year and a half.

Weston Jubilant Over Pine Creek Irrigation Signups

Umatilla County Track Meet Plans Set for April 29 1911

Representatives from county schools met in Athena Saturday to organize for the Umatilla County Track Meet and Oratorical contest to be held in Pendleton on April 29 1911. Officers elected for the coming year include W G B Martin of Milton as president Principal A Hampton of Pendleton schools as treasurer and Principal M B Pute of Athena as secretary. Committees divided the work fequently though text is unclear on specifics.

A J Wagner Dies Suddenly After Horse Accident

Andrew J. Wagner died in the early hours from heart failure after a fall that fractured his hip. He had been recovering when sudden nausea struck, Dr. Sharp arrived too late, and funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 in the Obree tion church. He was born April 14, 1848 in Knox County Ohio and married Louisa Morgan in 1870. He lived in Umatilla county since 1878 with a wife, a daughter, and a son surviving.

Home for wayward girls movement in Caldewan Idaho

Rev A A Doak, now active in Idaho evangelism, leads a drive to establish a home for wayward and friendless girls at Caldewan. Doak’s agents seek subscriptions to fund building and furnishing the home, with about $5000 needed. Culdesan residents have donated a 20 acre tract and pledged support totaling substantial sums locally.
