Shark teeth sharper than any other animal teeth
O W Barrett of the Porto Rico Department of Agriculture states in the Scientific Monthly that shark teeth are the sharpest and hardest of all animal substances. They are nearly pure enamel with no inner softer portions, explaining their durability and suitability for watch fobs and jewelry. Fossil records show ancient sharks left millions of preserved teeth long after other bones decayed.
