Death of John D. Twohy Prominent Northwest Contractor
John D. Twohy, longtime head of the Twohy Brothers contracting firm, died Thursday in San Francisco from pneumonia after surgery. He led major railroad and waterworks projects in Oregon, California, and the Northwest, with headquarters in The Dalles and notable work from Pendleton to Bend. He leaves a widow, four children, his mother and two sisters in California, and brothers James F. Twohy of Portland and Phillip Twohy of Spokane. Funeral services were held in Santa Clara with interment at Santa Rosa.
