Weston high school student Howard Swant crafted The Silver Ace No. 18 a compact biplane with a four cylinder air motor and eighteen inch propeller. On display at Goodwin drug store the model aims for the Pasco air derby on April 20 though it won’t fly yet may be used on a surface. He also built a small runnable automobile in recent months.

Northern Pacific Demonstration Train Arrives in Walla Walla

George Strand of Smythe-Bartell installed the Iron Fireman automatic coal stoker in Athena school furnace, completing work Sunday and heating the building Monday. The system lowers fuel cost using slack and nut coal with bottom-fed fuel and automatic thermostatic temperature control. Adams school also received a new installation. La Grande Man Found Dead At Wife's Grave
Guy Davis, 80, was found dead in a La Grande cemetery near his wife's grave with a bullet wound and a pistol in his hand. The sexton witnessed him in the cemetery, and he had been despondent for some time.
