Joel Stanton, respected young man from Athena, died after being thrown from a buggy onto the macadam street. He underwent skull-base fracture surgery by Dr. Plamondon and Dr. Cole but died about an hour later. Born October 15, 1871 in Napa County, California, he leaves a large family and was a loyal employee of Preston-Parton Milling Co. His funeral will be held tomorrow at 11 p.m. at the Christian Church with Odd Fellows in charge.
