Nortonville Bank Robbery Reported By Local Town
Yeggmen robbed the Exchange State bank at Nortonville last night through a rear window. They cracked the vault with an acetylene torch, took about 6500 in cash and securities, and used milk cans to cool the vault. A strange car seen near the McCarthy residence supports a possible guard or surveillance theory. No major damage beyond the safe. insurance likely covers losses. Police and county officers search for clues with no break yet.
