System of Machinery Aids Lincoln Highway Construction
Contractor Jakks Brothers push Lincoln highway work through Ashton this summer with favorable weather. Concrete progress runs 300 to 400 feet per day as cement loads weigh seven tons and a 1 1/2 ton truck moves piles to the mixer. The county line mixer and heavy machinery operate while crews dump cement. If weather holds, Ashton should be reached by late June.
