A Washington DC printing plant leads in efficiency with a machine that prints gums and perforates 12 000 postage stamps a minute. Operating on an eight hour day the unit yields 5 700 000 two cent stamps worth 115 200 dollars with 57 percent cost savings. Inventor B R Stickney developed the device for the government plant.

Ashton Lodge Holds Big DeKalb Meeting for 35 Candidates
Fifty members of Ashton Lodge 977 I O O F attended a large DeKalb gathering with 35 candidates initiated and first degree conferred. Nearly 300 Odd Fellows from about a dozen towns were present, and Ashton teams enjoyed a substantial supper and midnight banquet.

The Chicago and North Western Railway inaugurates the extra fare Overland Limited for sleeping car passengers only. The daily 7:00 p.m. departure from Chicago to San Francisco arrives 9:30 a.m. the third morning in sixty four hours and thirty minutes. Eastbound departs San Francisco April fifth at noon arriving Chicago the third morning at 9:00 a.m. Features include all steel cars with modern amenities and on board bulletin reports. Milton C.
