A Dixon booster club formed last week with 1 000 members supports I F Edwards for the Republican nomination for Congress in the district. The group includes business professionals preachers teachers and laborers and experts predict countywide clubs. With Lee Whiteside and Ogle counties together set to average about 15 000 Republican votes, Edwards chances appear bright and Lee County may form a 4 000 member booster club.

Watches Taken From Dixon Jewelers Robbery
Sometime early Saturday morning thieves broke the plate glass at Wm. E. Trein’s jewelry store in Dixon and removed four watches from a window tray. The night watchman found the window intact at two o’clock, a hammer used to pry in a hand hole. Three Howard watches and one Waltham were stolen. no suspects yet. Trein’s friends in the city express sympathy. Also noted was George Baker receiving a new drag wagon yesterday, a platform truck type.

Rutledge of Elgin Spoke at Modern Woodmen Memorial Services
Dr J C Rutledge of Elgin addressed the annual Modern Woodmen of America Memorial at the opera house Sunday afternoon. The program included a band, prayers, songs, and a cemetery service headed by Venerable Counsel George A Putman. Over 48 000 homes insured, crowd overflow, parade back to the city with 175 Woodmen in line. Vera Knapp is ill.
