Accident delays merry-go-round swing operation
A heavily loaded swing on a merry-go-round failed Saturday night causing a stop in operations. The proprietor halted rides for repairs, which were completed Monday, allowing a return to service Tuesday evening. The owners planned to move to Oregon but will stay until Saturday night.

Corner Stone Laying Set for St Mary Church West Brooklyn
The cornerstone ceremony for St Mary Roman Catholic church in West Brooklyn is scheduled for Tuesday August 2. Bishop Muldoon and many dignitaries will attend as crowds of up to 5000 are anticipated. Altar Society will serve meals in Gehant's opera house to fund the church building.
