Mrs. Horace Vroman Dies at 75 in Harmon Home
Mrs. Horace Vroman age 75 9 months 15 days died Sunday July 9 at her daughter Mrs. J R Titus home in Flagg. Born Sarah Maria Carnahan September 24 1885 in Columbia PA she married Horace Vroman November 27 1853 and had twelve children. Funeral held Tuesday in Harmon with Rev Hetrick officiating. interment Harmon cemetery.

Balloon race survivor sighting reaches Chicago landing Miss Sophia
A gas balloon from the Elimination Balloon race floated over Kansas City and landed later in Franklin Park Chicago. The craft named Miss Sophia carried pilots William F. Assman and James O'Reilly who landed safely in a tree after failing to cross Lake Michigan due to ballast shortages.

Death of Conductor Wal ter C Payne after minor hand wound
Conductor Wal ter C Payne of the Northwestern died at Agatha hospital at 5 45 p m on Wednesday July 5 following a small scratch on his right thumb on June 21 while handling butter tubs. Blood poisoning developed and he left work on June 29. Born January 27 1862 in Ashton Illinois he moved to Clinton to work for the railroad and was well known among railroad men. He married Anna Hoffman of Appleton Wisconsin on March 31 1906 and left a widow and four year old daughter Georgia. Surviving relatives include his parents Chester and wife Anna and two brothers Frank and Louis. Funeral from Sunnyside avenue on Friday at 2 pm, interment Springdale cemetery.
