A late Thursday storm over Lafayette township brought a tornado that damaged John Drummond’s farm wrecking barns and outbuildings while a lightning bolt hit the Feldkirchner home near Attig, tearing plaster and splintering furniture. Rainfall neared four inches as farmers faced more wet weather hindering threshing.

The Rock River Assembly at Dixon closed Sunday after a successful season with 75 tents rented for 1912. Attendance kept up despite rain and the program pleased attendees. Third Regiment in Camp at Dixon Illinois National Guard
The third regiment of the Illinois National Guard is stationed on the Military Academy grounds at Dixon. The sixth regiment will arrive next Saturday. Governor Deneen and staff visited the camp Tuesday. A march through Dixon and back to camp follows the day’s drills. Brigadier General Edward Kittleson will inspect the camp.
