Two Automobiles Collide Near Yorty Corners
Last Friday around four pm two tourist drivers collided north of town westbound Overland and Pierce Arrow near Yorty corners. After initial contact they drove on to town. Deputy Sheriff Van Ness assisted, Justice Berry offered no immediate warrant, and both parties eventually resumed travel after discussing settlement.

Railroads Move to New Ticket Form With Refund Coupon
Illinois railroads have issued a new paper ticket with an attached coupon. The coupon states the purchaser may claim a refund of the excess fare if the Supreme Court rules the present rate illegal, with redemption within six months after the decision. Lafayette Road Contract Let After Delays
The Lafayette road contract was finally let at Springfield this week to Drinnin & Clark of Galesburg for 19 115 dollars. About 6 400 feet of concrete road will be built west from the east line of Lafayette township. The delay held up Lincoln Highway improvements and Rochelle and Lafayette officials expect work to start soon with materials reaching Flagg.

Goodrow to Lead Northern Illinois Agents on Colorado Trip
H L Goodrow of Wax Park, longtime Peoria Life Insurance agent, will join the One Hundred Thousand club for a two week Colorado Springs vacation starting next Sunday. He earned a higher post overseeing all Northern Illinois agents and will take his wife on the trip. The Dixon board rejected only one man from Ashton township among those called for examination, with a few rejections in Bradford and Reynolds. County quota rose from 173 to 191. men numbered 601 to 700 summoned for next Monday’s examination. Of the first 600 examined, 172 are ready to go to Rockford. many accepted claim to stay home, and investigations will determine who is excused.

The Improvement Board accepted the sewer system and disposal plant after engineer approval and noted required changes. Contractor Egan and Engineer Green attended. a supplemental assessment of 10227.62 will fund remaining costs. Hearing on final costs and the assessment is set for Monday August 27 in County Court.
