Grand Jury returns true bills in most cases but not against Thomas Cyril King and John Patrick McCarthy charged with indecent assault. Antonio Montacino convicted of theft with four months imprisonment. Michael Barry remanded for probation report. Iwin Katherine Rangi Macandrew admitted to probation with two years on condition of entering and remaining at St Marys Home. John Mitchell pleads guilty to arson with native custom defense. Takopa Kimehanga convicted, two years. Leonard Exston three years for highway robbery. Teotena Tipu six months for horse stealing. Joseph Horlare nine months for stealing from a person. Philip OBrien six months for assault and robbery.
A jewellery robbery occurred at the Provincial Hotel during a one week period, with valuables valued at £100 belonging to a daughter of the Kcansee. The theft is alleged to have happened between 12 noon and 2 pm.
