At Christchurch on March 11 a large entry across all stock classes formed a busy sale. Sheep and lambs showed steady to firm prices with good export demand, while fat cattle rose in value and pigs remained in strong demand. Notable yarding included 959 fat cattle and prime wethers up to 18s 4d, with veal calves at 4s to 2 1s per head.
At Burnsides Dunedin price report for March 11 shows a small yarding of 1860 sheep with firmer prices, lambs 646 head with similar tone to last week, cattle entries 115 with prices up 10s per head, and pigs 95 yarded with porkers and baconers in brisk demand and some gains.
London cables dated March 10 and March 9 note wheat prices 1s to 1s 6d cheaper due to large shipments from River Plate and America, with abundant wheat afloat weighing on the market. Dalgety and Co report wool arrivals 340,000 bales for the second series with 201,000 bales available for sale and expect sheepskin prices 5 to 10 percent lower at next sales.

Five-year service medals were granted to Robbs and Whybrow. other medals awarded for attendance and valor. gold bars presented for twenty-five years of service to several members.

Wellington report notes a pakapoo bank in Hainingstrest defrauded of 250 by a man hiding in the rafters during a drawing. To speed up and avoid police, tickets were collected while the draw occurred. A confederate used a marked ticket at an agent with uncollected tickets. winnings exceeded 250 but the bank could only raise that amount and accepted it.
A Hastings report notes a petition to set aside land at Waimarama gains support after G P Douzelly discussed with the Ministers of Lands and Native Affairs. Donnelly plans to subdivide ninety six acres for a seaside resort with a reserve for the public and leases for sale, while remaining estate land may form fifty to three hundred acre blocks. The government will survey soon and open Crown land to selection early, increasing land for closer settlement to about seventeen thousand acres.
