Opening Ceremony Opens Under Restricted Access In Gov House
Parliament opened today in dull weather with limited public access due to small chamber space. The Heretunga Rifles formed a guard of honour for His Excellency the Governor, attended by Captain Lyon and Mr H S Waterfield. A harbour warship fired a salute as the Governor’s retinue arrived at the Council Chamber. The Speaker's arrival followed, and the full proceedings concluded by 2 52 p.m.
