Borough School Committee pressed the Borough Council for four to five acres on the Domain north side as a future site arguing the present location is low lying and near hospitals. The mayor pledged careful consideration and a conference with county and local boards was set for next Monday to decide.

The annual meeting of the Ashburton branch of the Health of Women and Children Society described Nurse Hancock’s year of service with 933 visits by others and about 200 babies under supervision. The balance sheet showed £167 credit though finances remained tight. Members thanked donors and elected new officers, aiming to send clothing to sailors’ dependents and noting community support from Borough and County Councils.
