Conference backs central pest information scheme for dominions

London June 1d The Agricultural Conference opened in the Colonial Office with Lord Cremer presiding. Sir William Hall Jones Mr McGowen Sir N Lewis and others attended. Mr McGowen proposed the motion that the scheme was highly advantageous and should retain colonial adhesion. The motion was carried.

British by elections fill two seats in Scotland and England

In Ross and Cromarty the Liberal candidate Mr McPherson won with 8717 votes over 1258 for Mr Templeton after Mr J. G. West’s death. In Brighton the seat vacated by Hon Rice’s peerage was filled unopposed by Hon W. Gordon of the Unionist party.
