Last gun fired for Queen Victoria by Rays Horse Artillery

The Royal Windsor Long Walk witnessed the 4 February 1901 salute as the Rays Horse Artillery fired eighty one rounds from a twelve pounder. Captain Cegil B Levitas led with Lieutenants Bell and Game. Corporal Cook and Sergeant Gillard manned the gun amid smoke. A photo by Mr Bambridge of Eton captured the moment, with memorabilia of wires and the last signal by Lieut Game. Corporal Cook later served in South Africa. The first round was fired by Gunner HE Everard, a Ladysmith survivor.
