Ashburton Rates and Sanitation Charges Proposed

Ashburton Borough Council will hold a special meeting on June 20 191? to fix general water and sanitation rates for April 1 1917 to March 31 1918. General rate two shillings in the pound. water rates seven pence in the pound or half for certain lands. sanitation fees ten shillings per pan for ground floor closets and twenty shillings for second storey closets. Rate book and audited balance available at the council offices.

Coldstream Road Board to Levy General Rate in 1917

Notice of intention to levy a general rate of one farthing in the pound on all rateable properties within the Coldstream Road District for April 1 1917 to March 31 1918. The valuation roll is open for inspection and the meeting to confirm the rate is set for Friday June 29 1917.

Ashburton Amends Slaughtering Charge By Law 1917

The Ashburton Borough Council held a special meeting May 21 1917 and amended By law No 8 1916 to fix the slaughtering charge for every sheep or lamb at one shilling instead of ninepence. The amendment takes effect on June 26 1917.
