The South Rakaia Road Board held its monthly meeting with members Lambie Holmes Hartnell Harrison and Magson present. They instructed the clerk to contact A D McPhail about purchasing land near Barr Lull for a gravel pit and to report on road closures in Village Settlement, plus call tenders for stone picking on Acton River road. Fenders were accepted for stripping pits on Back Track from Blackburn and on Acton River road from J Brown. No tender was accepted for tussocking on Mount Hutt boundary road or Dobbin's Word road. The county clerk noted the overflow on RS 5821 was due to a defective ford and no authority for a crossing on Lauriston Bar Hill. Alterations to the rate were approved subject to payment. The clerk's action arranging with John Pearce to roll Thompson's Track was approved. Accounts totaling £163 2s 9d were paid, after which library business was dealt with and the meeting adjourned.
