London reports fresh quotations for frozen meat based on parcels representative of bulk ship ments with Canterbury light mutton at 84d and Canterbury medium lamb at 63d. North Island and other beef types unchanged. Wool prices steady with strong sales continuing and 38,532 of 48,760 catalogued bales sold including Waipawa fad and Glenside at 82d.

Wellington reports a Magisterial enquiry into the October 19 Cook Strait strike of the steamer EKapiti under Captain Shaw. In Nelson on November 30 16 year old Margaret Larkins a domestic servant for Mrs Maitlains was charged with wilfully setting fire to a Trafalgar Street South building after allegedly confessing to the act to avoid wash duties. She was remanded for a week.
Judge Williams upholds conviction of I J Sullivan for possessing hares frozen for over seven days after the game season. Hares from Maniototo were stored in a Burnside freezer, with outside Maniesota county treated as imported game under the Animals Protection Act.
