S George Ro Wala killed a large number of porkers on the E. N. Blake farm near Allentown. The crop, mostly Poland China, averaged 831 pounds per pig at nine and a half months. three heaviest weighed 876, 374, and 370 pounds. Richard B. Harrison of Jacobstown sold the largest pig crop in the region in a year at $7 per hundredweight. One hundred and one pigs averaged 240 pounds, totaling 24,769 pounds. Harrison has killed more than 60,000 pounds of pork this winter and recently sold a 900‑pound prize hog to Pennsylvania buyers for a guessing contest.
