Adrian Shooting Club forms in Asbury Park area

The Adrian Shooting Club completed a 50 member charter and will perfect its organization at an upcoming meeting. Plans include an open air shoot in Sea Girt against a New York team and creating a lasting sporting presence in Asbury Park. Mr Adrian will teach and grant privileges to members. a prominent New York rifle shooter predicts a strong team. A ladies club is to be formed this week.

Oreos Defeat Acmes 35 to 5 In Newark Basketball

The Oreos defeated the Acmes of Newark 35 to 5 in Central Hall. Knight Applegate and Dudley Rogers Hawkins Watson starred as the Oreos dominated from start to finish. Next Saturday the Oreos face St James Paterson.

Beaten by Mob in Matawan Row Leaves Man Near Death

Ernest Miner, a brick yard employee near Matawan, was beaten by a large crowd of colored men after a daytime quarrel with Wilmer Maxson. Pursued by about thirty men, Miner was beaten with a fence rail and stabbed with razors. a revolver was fired as he lay prostrate. He has an even chance of living or dying.

Mayor Ten Broeck Examines Main Streets For Boulevard

This afternoon Mayor Ten Broeck will have views taken of Main street Asbury Park and Main avenue Ocean Grove to show the width differences of the streets and argue to the Legislature committee why South Main Street cannot handle traffic and why a boulevard is needed to accommodate the anticipated volume.

Boards of Registry to Meet in Townships Tomorrow

Officials announce the Boards of Registry and Election will convene in each township from 1 PM to 9 PM to revise registry data. Mrs Charles Rothfritz died suddenly at her Whitesville home this morning. An autopsy by Coroner Fleck and Dr Rose found death due to natural causes.

A proposed continuous ocean front drive from South Amboy to Atlantic City advances in New Jersey’s Legislature. The Snyder bill avoids Ocean Grove by barring rights through religious resorts, planning routes via Sea Girt, Sea Girt camp, and Sea Girt to Asbury Park with hurdles at Sea Girt camp and Barnegat Bay.

Fire devastates Long Branch home injures woman

A blaze at George Leonard’s Sixth Avenue double house caused by a gasoline stove in a garret room gutted the top floor after an hour fight. Leonard saved much property but suffered light losses. his wife was badly hurt after falling on a flight of stairs. The source notes the incident involved B L Burtt and a twelve year old nephew assisting with carpentry.

Bad luck seven years finds John L Schneider with glass loss

John L Schneider suffers renewed misfortune after a large tempered plate glass at Ham's pharmacy breaks, causing a $100 loss due to insurance lapse. He had replaced the surviving fragment from the old Githen building with an $85 window pane, but the piece shattered while fitting the frame, renewing local superstitions about his luck.

Large Sunday at First M E Church Sees New Members

The First M E Church reported unusually large attendance at both services yesterday. In the morning four new members were admitted and a public statement of the church condition was given. In the afternoon Missionary day raised 54 dollars for the work. In the evening Pastor Gifford delivered an admirable address to church members.
