The Brownie Athletic Club of New York faced the Oreos in Central Hall on Saturday night and were beaten 52 to 2 by Ave. Two hundred spectators watched as the Brownies scored only once two minutes after the tip. The Oreos tired the visitors, who struggled to control the ball and shoot. Local sentiment favored facing stronger teams, with next matches set against Clarendon Athletic Club and the Deaf Mate five of New York City.

Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association seeks ejectment to remove Dr. Charles W. Sanders and Henry M. Sanders for nonpayment of association levied assessments. Samuel A. Patterson leads the prosecution. Secretary Evans must bring association books and minutes to court. Two trunks of records were shipped to Freehold. Evans believes the association will prevail.
The Asbury Park Wheelmen start an individual handicapped bowling tournament in the club house tonight. Four top members set handicaps for the event among many entrants. Contestants include Dr George B Herbert Roy James Ralph Goraline Howard D LeRoy and others. Each bowler plays three games and prizes will be awarded.
Public school teachers in Monmouth County meet at Long Branch High School and establish a permanent group. Christopher Gregory as president leads a program on education, with talks on correlation of studies and lifelong preparation, adopting a bylaw filing and electing officers for the year. The group plans a May meeting in Long Branch.
Rev. Eli Gifford of the First Methodist Church compiles growth data for Protestantism over 1850 to 1900. Global church membership rises from 2,520,026 in 1850 to 17,874,475 in 1900, while Methodism grows from 1,825,631 to 5,996,928 in the same period.
President Keator of the Board of Trade has called a mass meeting to discuss annexation of West Park. The gathering will be held next Friday evening in Educational Hall and aims for a true expression of opinion from every interested citizen.
Joseph A. Poole editor of the Long Branch Press was sentenced to pay a $50 fine and spend thirty days in the county jail for libeling Mayor Morris of Long Branch. Poole had pleaded guilty a week earlier. The report also notes lawsuits by Crowell and Walton of Asbury Park against Jennie R. Albertson for $89 for plumbing, and a judgment in favor of the plaintiffs. The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association executive committee will meet to grant title to land donated to the Symphonion Manufacturing Company.
