The Board of Trade endorses a citizens mass meeting to consider annexing West Park to Asbury Park. Supporters cite sanitary and economic benefits while opponents warn of higher taxes and governance costs. A vote carried the resolution by a narrow margin, with a meeting date to be set.
Alice Hunt of Fifth Avenue skated on Sunset Lake with Bessley King Haleey Polhemus and Malcolm Severance. She fell injuring her right knee cap but the joint spontaneously relocated during a rest moment as companions helped her home.

A dozen people were injured when a Lehigh Valley engine backed into a Matawan train at the crossing north of Perth Amboy. Seriously hurt were Dr. L B Meltzer Harry Burdge Thomas Cassini O W S Randolph and Elmer Geran. The smoker car was crushed and the injured were taken to a novelty saloon and later to their homes.
At yesterday’s Board of Trade meeting a plan for city advertising was approved with Cornel to implement. J L Kinmonth proposed supplying reading notices in stereotype form to small papers, funded by Common Council. Buffalo Pan American Expo offers potential ad revenue. New York American Press Association may supply stereotype plates. Mayor Ten Brosch noted a new state tax bill enabling a one mill ad tax, expected to raise about $3 000 yearly.
