Asbury Council Plans New Junior Mechanics Building
Asbury Council of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics has begun steps to buy a lot and build a headquarters. A committee will meet an architect Tuesday to review plans for a three story building with stores on the first floor living apartments on the second and the lodge room on the third. The group considers a 100 by 183 foot site at Bangs avenue and Emory street formerly the Opera House. The council has about 8000 in stock and may issue five dollar shares to raise funds. Currently meetings are held on the Appleby building third floor on Mattison avenue.
