Central Railroad of New Jersey brakemen haveYet to reach wage terms after months of talks. Grand Master P H Morriney of the Brotherhood of Railroad Brakemen is to be summoned to resume negotiations. Brakemen demand ten hours count as a day and a mileage basis for long coal and passenger runs, basing on the conductors’ recent concession. They are paid 1.85 dollars for a twelve hour day.

Uriah White Moved to State Hospital for Sanity Inquiry
Uriah White, whose mental condition has troubled friends for ten weeks, was transported from Kila on Lake Avenue to Bradley Beach station for a 12 15 train to the state hospital at Trenton. Accompanied by his son Jonathan White, nephew Alonzo Clayton, son in law John Conover, and Dr. Samuel Johnson, he appeared in good spirits. A jury will hear evidence of his sanity next Monday in the Common Council chamber, after which a guardian will be appointed to oversee his estate.

Grand Avenue Reformed Church Marks 25th Anniversary
The Grand Avenue Reformed Church observed its silver anniversary with services led by Rev. Dr. Giles Mandeville and Counselor David Harvey Jr. The church began as a small 1876 chapel on Sewall avenue, organized February 17, 1875 with 25 members. Indemnity Claim Followed Venezuelan Imprisonment
H C Bullis of Asbury Park returns from Maracaibo after five and a half months’ captivity to press a $50,000 indemnity claim against Venezuela. He was detained without trial after being accused of aiding revolutionaries, had his letters blocked, and his trunk confiscated, then released a day after appealing to the American minister in Caracas. He intends to pursue legal action in Minneapolis.
