Accident at Sandy Hook ends life of James Flood
James Flood, a substitute mail carrier, was riding a railroad tricycle delivering the evening mail to Fort Hancock post office when an ordnance locomotive struck him, instantly killing him. His body was taken to Fort Hancock hospital where surgeons reported a broken neck. He was unmarried and the tricycle was demolished.

Death of Charles H. Davis at Ocean Grove aged 67
Charles H. Davis of 87 Cookman Avenue Ocean Grove died at his home this morning at age 67 from heart weakness. A retired salesman, he lived in the area since 1887 and leaves a wife and a daughter who teaches at Asbury Park High School. Funeral at his late home next Tuesday afternoon conducted by Undertaker Matthews.
