Militiamen Plan February 22 Shoot at Bradley Beach
At a City meeting Company H members Guerin Coyte and Pancoast formed a committee to arrange a shooting match with Long Branch Company EK on February 22 Washington's Birthday. Each side will contribute five dollars for a trophy. The match features seven shots plus a sighting shot at 200 and 800 yards on Company H ranges in Bradley Beach. Euchre for Library Aids Free Public Library Funds
Seventy two Indies and gentlemen played euchre last night at the Grand Avenue Hotel for the Isolation Hospital Club to benefit the free public library. Table receipts reached thirty six dollars for library chairs with refreshments adding more. Mr and Mrs Hamilton Hunt Mrs Ball and Mr Cometock led in flag wins while Mrs Laura Fitzhugh Lance and Mr Brooks had most flags. Mrs Sisson organized forts aided by Mrs Howard Hulick. Refreshment duties were managed by Mrs F F Coleman and assistants. A second euchre is planned near Wednesday at the Commercial Hotel for hospital fundraising. A hospital workers business meeting is set for 3 pm Tuesday at Mrs F F Coleman’s residence.
