Belmar Ice Company Worker Injured In Ice House Accident
William Morris of Belmar employed by United Ice Company of Asbury Park slipped on ice in the ice house on First Avenue while handling ice cakes. A falling cake struck his foot causing him to topple onto a sharp edge of a fellow worker’s ice hook, inflicting a severe leg cut. He was carried home by car.

Red Bank Ice Yacht Sets World Speed Record
The yacht Sand from Red Bank won the world speed record on Hudson River tests. With a 750 square foot lateen sail she completed five eighths of a mile in 15 seconds, a pace of twenty four seconds per mile, measured by yacht club officials on a triangular course from Gleu's Point to Fisher's Cove. Society Rites At Grave For Charles H Stillwagon
Funeral services for Charles H. Stillwagon were largely attended. He belonged to seven lodges with six represented. After a home service in West Summerfield Avenue, the remains went to West Park Mt. E. Church where Rev. E O Hancock preached. Red Men led by Edgar Bills as sachem and William Giffard as prophet, with Junior Mechanics, conducted burial honors. Other lodges present included Golden Eagles, Shepherds of Bethlehem, Daughters of Liberty and Carpenters and Joiners Union. A pigeon was placed on the coffin at the burial, symbolizing the fleeting spirit. The pallbearers were Job Meszler, Bodine, Dr. Als Willits, John Simpson, Joseph Bassett and Henry Bresnahan. The deceased’s lodges will reimburse the widow about $1,500.
