Amateurl Minstrels at Park Opera House Draws Crowd
The Wheel minstrel show last night at Park Opera House filled the lower seats and partially filled the gallery. Vansant, Fores, Shreve, Hubbard, Shepherd, and White performed with tambourines and bones, while Frank Tuttle emceeded and a strong cast delivered solos and burlesques. An encore followed George Stannard’s violin solo, and the second half featured the popular "Any Old Thing" and the long-running "Mr. McKurdy" burlesque with new features. The local Winsor-led orchestra received heavy applause. The Wheelmen expect an eight hundred or more attendance.

Old Sea Relic Hauled From Beach After Storm
A broadside of what appears to be a schooner was stranded at the foot of Third Avenue. The derelict, seen in undertow on Sunday, was secured Monday and chopped up by Superintendent Walker. Sections weighed about 40 tons and 70 feet long, with disposal costing 150 dollars. The wreck originated up the beach and could have damaged the fishing pier if it reached the area.
