Prompted by friends aware of his fine voice he sang at a West Philadelphia church and was engaged as regular vocal partner. A church member offered him a position in his business office, which Harrison accepted. Church members greeted him warmly with invitations to their homes. Hearing Mr. Harrison confirms many say his voice is a revelation to strangers, with skill in both sacred and choral music and a near full solo capacity.
