W M Murphy of Freehold Dead at 18 Years of Age
W M Murphy died at his Freehold home yesterday evening at age 18 after a three year illness. He was born in Freehold, son of the late Joseph Murphy, graduated Princeton College in 1842, practiced law in Brooklyn, then returned to Freehold and held county and town offices. He served as county clerk and chief Freeholders’ clerk, led local business and church groups, and was active in the Maplewood cemetery, Ocean Grove meetings, and several fraternal organizations. He leaves a widow Miss Lavinta Swift and three children.

The Hebrew club has formed a Young Men's Hebrew group planning a school for Hebrews aged ten to seventeen, charging five cents weekly. Classes led by Prof. Dick will teach Hebrew and English, with two weekly sessions Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon. The club seeks donations of chairs and tables to furnish the rented Springwood avenue quarters and cover rent and light costs.

Local Worker George R Hurley Dies at 36
George R Hurley an employee of Atlantic Coast Lighting Company died at his Summerfield Avenue home this morning from paralysis of the throat. He was 36, leaves a widow and two children, and was a member of Asbury Park Lodge of Odd Fellows which will conduct the funeral. A special meeting of members is set for tomorrow night in Central Hall at seven to complete arrangements.
