August at Flagstaff Hospital Sets Attendance Records
Flagstaff Community Hospital administrator Lawrence Gold told trustees August was the busiest month in the facility's history with admissions up 22 percent, days of care up 13 percent and operations up 39 percent compared with 1971 through August. Total admissions 3,064, days of care 15,260, operations 1,304, births 448. July billings were 325,848. Estimated charity write offs around 8,244. Additional staff and new hires planned as the hospital moves toward a mid-1973 four story addition. Capital needs projected at 30,000 to 40,000 for new equipment and a day loan approved for 42,000 to cover payments to builders.
