Salary hikes sought for Arizona officials and judges
Arizona legislators, elected officials and judges could receive about $1 million in annual pay increases under a proposal by the Arizona Commission on Salaries for Elected State Officials. The plan, not including lawmakers, requires governor or Legislature approval and would raise most salaries by about 60 percent, with the governor’s pay rising from 27 500 to 38 000 and Supreme Court justices from 23 500 to 33 000. The commission says the raises would take effect January 1 1973 and go to the 1972 general election ballot.

School Board Ordered To Surrender Lands In Alabama
